Musicians currently studying at the rock and roll music colleges BIMM Brighton & BIMM Bristol have been selected to feature on an album to be released on Monday the 9^TH of May 2011.

The BIMM album entitled ‘What’s Inside Your Head? Volume 4’ includes 14 of the colleges’ best new talent with all proceeds going to charity.

The tracks were chosen by a music industry A&R panel and were recorded with producers including Tim Bidwell, Peter Vettese, Gez Walton, Mark Flannery, Dan Swift and Toby May. Since BIMM launched in Brighton 2001, the college has expanded from 100 students to over 1300 musicians studying guitar, bass, drums, vocals, songwriting and music business to degree level with colleges in Brighton, Bristol and now Dublin, which will open in September 2011.

 BIMM has released an album each year, 9 albums to date on their own record label – South Coast Sounds.  The talented musicians have been involved in the back stage scenes of making the album including preparing and recording their tracks in the studio, learning about the production process, handling media interviews and preparing for the official launch.  

The album will be sold in aid of charity with all proceeds going to the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Centre – a professional music therapy centre for adults and children with a wide range of needs in the UK and abroad. There will be a live album launch at the Pavilion Tavern in Brighton on Friday the 13^th of May, as part of the Great Escape Festival featuring live performances from some of the musicians on the album.

The BIMM album entitled ‘What’s Inside Your Head? Volume Three’ includes 14 of the colleges’ best new talent with all proceeds going to Nordoff Robbins, a music therapy charity. The album features tracks from both Brighton and Bristol musicians.

The tracks were chosen by a music industry A&R panel which includes Felix Howard – Head of A&R at EMI Publishing and a successful songwriter in his own right. EMI Music Publishing are currently sponsoring BIMM’s songwriting degree course at BIMM Brighton. Since BIMM launched in 2001, the college has released an album each year – 8 albums to date. The talented musicians have been involved in the back stage scenes of making the album including preparing and recording their tracks in the studio, learning about the production process, handling media interviews and preparing for the official launch which took place at this year’s Great Escape festival in Brighton with a live show featuring artists from the album.

The official launch took part at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton with acts from the album performing live on stage at the Pavilion Tavern.

They are also confirmed to play on the BIMM school tour and open days on the 7th of January (Brighton) and the 9th of January (Bristol).
